Sitlington Animal Park Update: Making Ground on the Farm (22 June)

Looking over what's been built of the farm (the zoo is on the left)

Another two weeks have passed since the last update from Sitlington Animal Park (doesn't time fly!) and here's what's happened since then.

Since the zoo and park areas were complete, the only area I had left to finish was the farm, which was mostly unbuilt two weeks ago. As mentioned in previous posts, this zoo is in three parts: there's the zoo itself, some parkland and a farm.

Couliflower, one of the few vegetable pieces we have that doesn't look like it's already been harvested (ignore the empty space behind the fence, that'll be more of the farm later)

Being honest, this was probably my least favourite part of the build as I felt a bit out of my depth.

A dirt road passes the greenhouses and blackberry trellises and leads to a staff car park

To make matters worse, there weren't as many items to use as crops as I first thought. In fact, there's maize and some already-harvested crops, and that's about it. There's some good options for fruit though, namely grapes, tomatoes and olives, so I put those in my greenhouses. Blackberries and rasperries are indirectly there thanks to the bramble bush.

While they don't have any fruit in the game, bramble bushes produce blackberries, raspberries and dewberries in real life so I added a few rows of them here.

Even though the potato scenery piece we have in-game is post-harvest, I did find a few images of them dug up in fields, so that's how I decided to design my potato field.

The potato piece we have in the game is already harvested (the plant part is cut off) so I had to make my field look like it was being actively harvested, like this.

And that's all the progress I have to share so far. I didn't get as much done as I hoped but it's still progress. I'm going to try and get the final bits done before I go away on holiday on the 30th. There's a goat milking facility, free-range chicken pen and some remaining fields to be built, so my work is truly cut out for me!

Until then, I hope you enjoy these screenshots and hopefully I'll have more to post by the end of this week.
